Student discount on public transportation
As a student, you have the opportunity to access local travel discounts in your student city through the Student Travel Symbol on your membership card on hitract. This symbol grants you access to discounts with participating public transport companies. To be eligible for the Student Travel Symbol on your membership card, you must be studying at least 50% during a semester, which means you need to be registered for at least 10 weeks in a program that qualifies for student financial aid (see Common questions for more information). The map below shows which companies offer student discounts for those who have the Student Travel Symbol. You can hover over each symbol to see the local transport companies.

Common questions
What is required to get the Student Travel Symbol on my membership card?
You need to meet the following requirements:

At least 50% of full-time studies (20 consecutive weeks) during the semester.

100% study load if you study at least 10 consecutive weeks.
Note: Both the credit requirement and study rate must be met to be eligible for the discount. The discount only applies during the period you are actively studying.
Important information:
- During a ticket inspection, you must be able to show your valid membership card in the app with the Student Travel Symbol, along with an ID to prove your eligibility.
- Hitract is not responsible if your card is no longer valid or if you misuse the discount.
- Non-CSN eligible programs, such as SFI, do not entitle you to the Student Travel Symbol.

Where can I find the Student Travel Symbol in the hitract app?
